Albany Hardware Specialty Manufacturing Co., Inc. is located in Viroqua, Wi. The Whitcomb Steel Latch was named after Henry Whitcomb, who founded Albany Hardware Specialty in 1898, in Albany, Wisconsin.

Since that time, the manufacturing process of the Whitcomb Steel Latch has undergone only minor changes to improve functionality. Albany Hardware takes pride in practicing “old world craftsmanship” in the manufacturing processes. Albany Hardware Specialty has over 100 years of experience in manufacturing and believes “We are not the best because we are the oldest, we are the oldest because we are the best.”
